Carter Staycation and Rio's Birthday

This year my family did a staycation instead of a vacation. We spent 4 days doing things that around here instead of traveling, so we could save money and still have a great time. And we did have a great time, I would almost suggest doing this every year.
On the first day we got together at my moms and had homemade pizza and played night games. It was great to act like a little kid again while playing night games. We played capture the flag and rag tag. (the best night game ever) Casey Snider and I started the rag tag game when we were younger, and it was so much fun that we still like it as adults. It’s like tag in the dark, sounds a bit stupid when you describe it, but its tons of fun. Aaron wasn't able to be there because he was at youth conference for our ward, but we were lucky he only had to miss the first day.
On the 2nd we went the Lava Hot Springs, it was a blast! Tessa had here first swimming pool experience, and she loved it. She kept pushing back so that here head was in the water. We also put her in the coolest hot pot. I think this was her favorite part, she was so relaxed while in there. And when we took her out to leave she got mad and started crying.

This is right after I went on the big slid! I don't like things like that and roller coasters, but I did it because Aaron really wanted me to. He is trying to get me to ride wicked at Lagoon, not going to happen. But the slide was fun. I only went on the yellow one.

Aaron liked the slides

We skipped Sunday and then on Monday we went to Causie Damn and went on canoes. It was fun. My dad wouldn't let me take Tessa on the canoe, although I was going to, so he stayed at the cars and took a nap with her. We swam in the COLD water and some jumped off the cliffs.

Then we went back to my moms house and had dinner. We put Tessa and Sailor (Shanelles little girl) down together to play. It is crazy how much difference only two and a half months makes in size. Sailor was born in April.

The last day we went to Ikea with the girls while all the boys went to work. I got some cute stuff for free because I still had a little bit left on a gift card. Then we all went to Lindey and Spencers house to play some kick ball and watch a movie on a sheet in there back yard. It was fun. Tessa was pasted between people while we all took our turn to kick and play out in the feild.

All in all we had alot of fun. I can't wait till next year.

Yearlier this summer we had Rios birthday party. Ryan and Shanelle just bought a boat and they took us all on it. Aaron wasn't there this time because he was at scout camp. Tessa liked the boat. She fell asleep on it because of the motion. She didn't even mind the life jacket that we barrowed from Sailor.

Tessa is now 2 months old! She is getting so big, at her 2 month doctors apointment she weighed 11 lbs. 1 oz. She is starting to smile alot and make noises.
She is so much fun.
Kara and I took pictures of Tessa for her 2 month and I wasable to edit them a little bit at Karas. I think that they turned out pretty well.
I think this one is my favorite, I love her smile.

She is getting long, I think she is going to be taller than me.

She was very happy and smiley for the camera.

This is right after her 2 month apt. and she had to get 3 shots. Poor thing she looks a little druged.

Summer Fun!!!

We have had a great summer so far! So this post is going to be long, sorry if it's boring. We have done a lot of things, and Tessa has loved coming along and experiencing things for the first time. As most of you know on Aaron's side of the family there was 5 granddaughters born all with in one year. Tessa was the last, which made her the 24th grandchild in the Peterson family. We were finally able to get a picture of all of them together.
All of the girls! from right to left: Lydia, Madi, Charly, Millie, and Tessa!
We also went to the duck pond with my sisters Kailee and Kara and her little boy Colin. Although Tessa sleep through the whole thing, I enjoyed getting out of the house and seeing all the birds and the beautiful nature.

We went to church the first Sunday after we got out of the hospital for Charlys blessing day. Tessa again just slept threw the whole thing.

All the girls and the moms.

The whole Peterson clan.
We went camping up at North Fork with Aaron's Mom, Dad, two brothers, sister in law and niece. It was fun and Tessa loved being out side.

We went to the fireworks that Weber State puts on for the 24th of July. Tessa again just slept through the firework show. But she liked just laying on the blanket and looking at the sky.

For the Ogden Days Parade Aaron drove the Hunstville Stakes float. It was a pretty sweet float. And it was very nice to sit in the truck and have the AC going. Tessa sat on my lap the whole time (we were only going 5 miles an hour if that). She slept some of the time and looked around for a bit.

The float!

All in all this has been a fun summer! Tessa has also smiled for the first time, but I haven't been able to catch it on camera. And we went boating on Pineview dam for my niece, Rio's birthday. My sister Shanelle also just had a baby girl (Sailor) two months before Tessa was born and so they had a small life jacket just the right size for Tessa, so she was able to go on the first boat ride. Again, she slept through that. I didn't have my camera, but my sister Kara had hers and is going to send me pictures.

Tessa Raes Newborn Pictures

Thanks to my best friend Camille! She took Tessa's pictures and they turned out great. I love them. Camille does such a good job. Tessa was asleep for the whole photo shoot, so none of them are with eyes open, but that was good because we got some really cute one. And it was great to get our first family pictures.

Easter Egg Rolling

EASTER EGG COLORING AND ROLLING !!!
As some of you know my family colors easter eggs every year and then we take all of our eggs and roll them down a hill. One year we rolled them down Nortic Valley Ski resort, another year we were at the beach and made trials in the sand, it always ends up different every year. This is one of my favorite traditions. It may sound stupid but it ends up being more than just rolling boiled eggs. We have different contests like whos egg can go the furthest, whose egg lasts the longest, who can hit a seagull with an egg, ext....
My mom gets into it! This year she bought us each 18 eggs. Now we have 20 people in the family so you can imagine how many eggs we had total, LOTS! We all get into the coloring process, we use everything we can to make the egg look cool! None of them are ever just one color. We have used rubber bands, tape, crayons, markers, sparkles, paint, lots of diff. colors of die to make our eggs unique. It’s a blast and I think the adults enjoy it even more than the kids.
This year we went to the Ogden Parkway and had a picnic. My dad always hides plastic Easter eggs with candy in them and let all the grand children go and find them. After we had the picnic all the kids went and found all the eggs that we hidden. While we were there Tucker decided that he was Hot! Aaron took him down to the river to get a drink and he jumped right in the water. I was shocked that he jump in. When he was a puppy Aaron threw him in a little pond, he is supposed to be a water dog. Well he hated it and has never liked the water after that. So we were surprised when he jumped in. But he enjoyed it!
The kids had a blast playing in the leaves at the park way while waiting for grandpa to hide all the Easter eggs!
After the egg hunt and picnic we all loaded up in the cars a drove to South Ogden Jr. High where there is a big hill to roll our Easter eggs. It was a blast! We had the boys egg race and girls egg race.

I think the seagulls knew we were going to be there, there were tons of them. For the last three years that Aaron and I have been together he has tried to hit a seagull. Well this year he finally did it. The poor bird, he wouldn't come close to the hill after that. But he was fine.
Tucker loved the tradition and had a blast chasing the eggs and birds. After we were done rolling the eggs we left the seagulls to their feast and clean up the eggs at the bottom of the hill.

We all had a blast this year!!!
